Unusual Live ... George Harrison

In this small space of the new blog we will review those concerts that marked forever the history of music, all those great events of the "unusual", which in one way or another have helped to make immortal the very same players who were great performers.
then start considering one of the first historians to have a live worldwide importance: the Concert for Bangladesh .
was made for charity by the great guitarist of the legendary Fab Four , George Harrison, and was held at Madison Square Garden in New York on 1 August 1971.
Harrison, just back from dissolution of the Beatles happened officially last year, he accepted the invitation of his Indian friend, an outstanding genius of the sitar, Ravi Shankar who put him aware of the serious problems afflicting the people of those lands.
organizers to make this event memorable rallying other big names in the Rock International, including Ringo Starr , Leon Russell, Billy Preston , Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton .
The performance of the latter in particular, couples with the same Harrison, is what we propose in today's video, it certainly formed the pearl of the whole concert.
The song was performed was beautiful "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" , one of the finest pieces of the Beatles, written by its George Harrison included the legendary "White Album" . While
Ringo Starr accompanied them to the battery, which was natural to perform the solo piece should be just Clapton and is already in the original version of the disc, just the same Slowhand had been called to do the same work. And
although it was somewhat evidenced by the widespread abuse of drugs in those years caused serious problems, however, the show was legendary!

George Harrison and Eric Clapton were very good friends in life (going so far as to "divide" his wife, Pattie Boyd , that after eight years of marriage to the Beatles guitarist in '74 left him just for his friend!).
And unfortunately, even when Harrison died of a brain tumor on November 29, 2001, Clapton was just wanting to hold (direct and artistically) for a gig in his memory, exactly a year after his death.
It was of course too, a memorable show, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, who took part, among others, the same surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr , as well as Billy Preston and George Harrison's son , Dhani (among other impressive his resemblance to the father).
We can not help but offer then, at least a couple of pieces removed from this extraordinary live: in particular a wonderful version of "Something" (another masterpiece written by Beatle George Harrison) with the initial part played with ' ukulele, and again touching and always beautiful "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" , this time enhanced by the presence of a large Paul McCartney ...
